Alaska Bird Hunting - Ducks, King Eiders and Harlequins

Nelson Lagoon and its surrounding areas possess some of the best bird hunting in Alaska. We offer seven day guided bird hunts for a variety of sea ducks, including King Eiders, Common Eiders, and Harlequins. Nelson Lagoon also has Ptarmigan and numerous fresh water species in the area. Typically, the bird hunting season begins in October and runs through mid-November. During this time period the hunting is exceptional, but the weather is also cold and windy, so we advise clients to plan accordingly. Unlike our fishing adventures, our bird hunts are based out of the community of Nelson Lagoon. Our guests will have accommodations at the local “Bering Inn” where they will be provided private rooms with bathrooms, and all meals served daily by our local cook. Currently, week long trips are being offered at $3,400 and are booked through Nelson Lagoon Adventures and our marketing partner Wingshooter Safaris.
